My Goals
After talking with Coach Tate I have come up with five goals for myself professionally. During our talk we discussed the lack of communication in certain departments. With my mentorship I have found out the communication is so key when putting together an event. After being involved with game day administration for almost 200 hours, I am shocked about how some departments that has to work with athletics, communicates. We talked for a while. Our talk even included family and life. He now knows just how much my family means to me and that when looking to expand my career they will be a huge part of what decisions that I make.
1. In three years I want to be an assistant athletic director
2. In a year, I want to be given more administrative duties by my athletic directors
3. Have the overall campus administration know just what I do and how important not only sports information is but game day administration is to the University
4. Have a well rounded life. Don't be stuck in my office all summer.
5. Family is important!!! Be able to do the job and still be able to be at the major parts of my family's lives.

All About Me
Well I am pretty much an open book. Let me start out by saying my offical full name is Kathrine Elizabeth Tooley. Notice there isn't an "e" before the "r". My mom (the lovely Mary Tooley) found this spelling in an Irish Baby Book back in 1978. Not a lot of people spell it that way which is ok with me. It makes me the unique and wonderful person that I am. Now when my mom attended K-State University back in the 1970s, she went to the play, "Taming of the Shrew" and loved the name Kathrine aka Kate. My dad (the very large and ex football coach Kevin Tooley) was a history teach and has his masters from Pitt State University in American History liked Queen Elizabeth. So there was the middle name.
As I said above, my dad was a football coach. He was a head football coach for the high school level for 32 years. So to say that I was attending football games in the womb would be an accurate statement. Dad also coached volleyball, basketball (boys and girls), and throwers in track and field. So I have been involved in athletics my whole life. The sad thing about all of this was they didn't allow girls to play sports in high school when my mom attended. She graduated from Louisburg High School in 1970. They (LHS) allowed girls to play sports during the 1970-71. So she never played but loved having us (I have two sisters and one brother) out there on the court or the field doing our thing.
So I played volleyball, basketball, and did track in high school. I played basketball and threw the javelin in track in college. I earned All-
American honors in the javelin, was a conference champion in the javelin and I hold the school record. On the basketball court I was a two-time all-conference performer. So I did pretty well for my self on the athletic side in college.
On the academic side I earned one undergraduate degree in history. I earned another on in information resource studies. Then I earned a masters degree in sports administration from the University of Kansas and now I am working on my MBA from Tiffin.
So all in all, I love athletics. I don't think that I could work a normal 8-5 job. I wear sweats/shorts and t-shirts to work on non-game days. I am basically my own boss and I love it.
